FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you cover?

We cover the whole of Essex as well as London, Herts, Surrey, Kent, Suffolk, Beds, Bucks. An additional fee of up to £100 may be applied for weddings outside of Essex.

Will I have a say with what is included?

Certainly… By the time your wedding day arrives we will have finalised any specific requirements with you over email or the telephone. Want to make sure Auntie Maggie visiting from New Zealand is in the video? We’ll take care of it…

Can I order extra copies of my DVD/BLU-RAY?

Of course! Extra copies are always available for years after the wedding at a cost of £15 each (£35 for Blu-Ray). These will include the photo printed cover, DVD box and printed disc face. (Not just a sticky label!)

What if I would like extra copies of my DVD in a few years time?

We will keep a high definition master copy of your finished DVD indefinitely, meaning that additional copies will always be available.

What makes you different to your competitors?

Having come from a television and film background, we realise that most wedding videos can become tiresome and this is something we avoid. We will capture your day, in an entertaining, concise and discreet way.

Will my DVD have a menu like the films I buy?

Yes, at no extra cost your wedding DVD or Blu-Ray will feature an animated menu with music.

Will you require a deposit?

We will require a non-refundable £150 deposit at the time of booking with the balance to be paid 4 weeks before the wedding day.

My friends DVD featured a photo montage of them growing up. Could you do this?

Yes. We are confident that whatever special requirements you have, we will be able to meet your expectations for a small extra fee to cover production costs. Don’t think we can do it? There’s no harm in asking…

How long do your DVD’s run for?

Usually between 40 and 60 minutes. This is usually dependant on the length of the speeches.

My venue requires my suppliers to have Insurance, do you have this?

Yes. We carry full Public Liability Insurance

Can you attend our wedding rehearsal?

Remember, Rideout have a lot of wedding Videography experience and attending a rehearsal would very rarely effect the quality of your video. However, if you would prefer us to be there then for a small extra fee and subject to availability this can certainly be arranged.

What if the venue for my wedding has restrictions on filming?

Although this is rare, even in churches, it is the clients responsibility to find out if any such restrictions are in place.

Should I provide a meal for the videographers?

Sometimes we are working on our feet for 9 hours straight on a wedding day and it is generally considered welcome courtesy to provide videographers and photographers with a meal. However if this is not possible please inform us in advance.

Can I see an example of your work?

Of course! Just visit the wedding video samples page to watch a streaming example or to request a demo disc to be posted to you free of charge.

Why should I choose you over a relative with a camcorder?

Even with access to high-end camcorders by the general public, most friends and relatives don't have the training or experience as well as the equipment of a professional videographer. A professional has experience with all types of wedding ceremonies and special events. There is only one chance to get it right.

What if my guests do not want to be a part of the recorded good will messages?

We will always politely ask your guests first if they wish to record a good luck message. We will never jump them with a camera and demand they speak!

Won’t a video camera get in the way?

The biggest compliment we have been paid by our clients is ‘We hardly realised you were there’. Discretion is key in the field of wedding videography. We will not dazzle the onlookers with bright lights, stop the ceremony to change a tape or step between the vicar and the couple for an artistic close up shot. We will instead deliver you an entertaining and professional looking video and leave you wondering where we were all day…

How long will you be with us on the day?

If you have chosen the Supreme Package, the morning preparations chapter is usually 8-12 minutes long. Therefore filming the bride getting ready for 4 hours is not necessary. The time that we will start filming very much depends on the specific timings of your day, but we will generally start filming from 2 hours before the ceremony up until the first dance (No later than 8.45pm). If there are specific moments that you wish to be captured outside of these hours, this can be arranged for a small extra fee.
